This event is to bring together educators leading Alternative Provisions for troubled children and young people who are not currently in mainstream schools including PRUs, SEMH schools and EOTAS.

Event Details

Those supporting this most vulnerable group in our educational community often work under difficult circumstances, hence the need for a network to provide support and share best practice.

This event will not be about ‘important’ people delivering long presentations. The important people in the room will be you. We want to bring leaders together to share what works, consider a range of questions and challenges and come away with some solutions to specific issues.

We will take a workshop and discussion group approach and will be asking you what the topics should be in advance – and we will also ask you what you can share – successes, challenges and what you are trying out.

  • What are our main challenges?
  • What works?
  • How can we best support each other moving forward?

Would YOU like to lead a discussion group or workshop? Would YOU be able to invite colleagues from other provisions and spread the word? Please be in touch with us and help out.

Details

WE WILL BE HOSTING AN INFORMAL NETWORKING EVENT (drinks and food!) ON THE EVENING OF THE 11TH FOR OVERNIGHT GUESTS – dependent on demand. Please do let us know either way.

For your convenience, here are some details about accommodation in central Birmingham. We ask you to take care of your travel and if necessary stay, we aren’t able to help very much with it as our only local connection is Daniel Sobel who left Birmingham 25 years ago so he’s absolutely no help whatsoever!

Daniel Sobel

Daniel Sobel founded Inclusion Expert after years working as a SENCO and Assistant Head. During this time he designed numerous effective and simple systems to help teachers and school leaders to manage information and maximise the impact of their interventions. He realised that many teachers were struggling unnecessarily with the demands of Inclusion, that his ideas and systems really worked and that there was an opportunity to make a difference to children across the country by sharing them.
