How does headteacher coaching work?

Headteacher coaching is delivered in one or more private sessions with our highly experienced senior consultants. We started to offer coaching after observing that the stresses and strains of the headteacher role often spill over into our main consulting services. Many of the issues in Pupil Premium provision, for example, are linked to the insane management, time and paperwork demands put on headteachers.

Our coaches are good listeners and offer support in the form of practical advice and new perspectives on issues, derived from their work with hundreds of schools. Regular sessions are available, and follow-up support by phone or email is included in the consulting fee. Your school doesn’t have to be in crisis for headteacher coaching to be beneficial—in fact, coaching is most useful when things are going OK and there is time and money available to implement long-term change.
